Лисичка і Рак
Лисичка зустріла Рака. Він повільно рухався, а вона стояла й дивилася на нього. Потім почала сміятися:
— Який же ти швидкий!
Рак не хотів, щоб вона з нього сміялася.
— Давай бігти до того маленького куща, — сказав він. — Я буду там раніше за тебе.
Лисичка дуже здивувалася:
— Ти хочеш бігти разом зі мною?
— Так. Можеш навіть стати на один стрибок попереду мене, — відповів Рак.
Вони домовилися. Лисичка стала попереду. Рак міцно схопив її хвіст.
Лисичка побігла дуже швидко. Вона добігла до куща й запитала:
— Раче, де ти?
Ніхто не відповів. Вона запитала ще раз і повернулася. Тепер її хвіст був біля куща.
Рак відпустив хвіст. Він опинився трохи далі за кущем.
— Я тут! — сказав він. — Я вже давно чекаю на тебе. Навіть пройшов трохи далі!

A fox sees a crayfish moving slowly and makes fun of him. She asks whether he once took a whole year to return from buying yeast, then spilled it at home. He says the story now sounds like a lie and refuses to accept her mockery. He challenges her to race to a small bush and says he will arrive first.
The surprised fox agrees. The crayfish even lets her stand one jump ahead of him. Once she is in position, he grips her tail with his claws. She runs as fast as she can, raising dust behind her.
At the bush, she calls for the crayfish, but hears nothing. She calls again and turns her tail towards the finish. He releases it and lands just beyond the bush. He announces that he has been waiting for her for a long time and has even gone a little past the finish.
