Oduncu ve sihirli testi
Bir adam odun kesmek için dağa gitti. Orada bir grup adam gördü. Önlerindeki testiden istedikleri kadar yemek ve şarap alıyorlardı. Bu adamlar sihir yapabiliyordu.
Oduncu yanlarına gidip onlarla konuştu. Onunla konuşmayı sevdiler ve “Bir şey iste, sana verelim,” dediler.
Oduncu testiyi istedi. Adamlar onu uyardı:
“Testi kırılırsa onu tamir edemeyiz. Onun sayesinde kazandığın her şeyi de kaybedersin. Başka bir şey iste.”
Oduncu yine testiyi istedi. Onu çok dikkatli koruyacağını söyledi. Adamlar da testiyi verdi.
Oduncu kısa zamanda çok zengin oldu. Bir gün arkadaşlarını yemeğe çağırdı. Arkadaşları sihirli testiyi görünce çok şaşırdı. Oduncu sevinçle testiyi başına koyup dans etmeye başladı. Ama ayağı kaydı, yere düştü. Testi kırıldı. Bütün parası ve zenginliği yok oldu. Yine eskisi gibi fakirdi.

A woodcutter goes into the mountains to cut wood. He finds a group of men eating and drinking as much as they want from a magical jug. He joins their conversation. They enjoy his company and offer to grant him a wish.
He asks for the jug. The men warn that it will be difficult to protect. If it breaks, it cannot be repaired, and everything he has gained through it will disappear. They suggest asking for something more useful. He insists on the jug and promises to guard it carefully.
He soon becomes rich. One day, he invites his friends to a feast. His friends are amazed by the jug. He is so happy that he puts it on his head and dances. He slips and falls, breaking it. All his wealth, including the money he has saved, immediately disappears. He is as poor as before.
