En Pere Patufet
En Pere Patufet és un nen molt, molt petit. A casa seva li donen una moneda i l'envien a comprar safrà, un ingredient per cuinar.
Quan arriba a la botiga, diu: «Vull safrà per aquesta moneda».
A la botiga miren pertot arreu, però no veuen ningú. Només veuen una moneda que es mou. En Pere és massa petit!
El nen torna a demanar el safrà. Ara el veuen. Agafen la moneda i hi posen el safrà. Després veuen com el safrà se'n va amb el nen.
Al carrer comença a ploure. En Pere no es vol mullar i s'amaga sota una col, una planta que es pot menjar.
Arriba un bou, un animal molt gran, i es menja la col i en Pere Patufet.
A casa seva es preocupen perquè no torna. Surten a buscar-lo i criden: «Pere Patufet, on ets?»
El nen respon: «Dins la panxa del bou, on no hi ha trons ni pluja».
La família no sap on trobar-lo. El torna a cridar, i ell respon el mateix.
Quan encara el busquen, el bou fa un pet. I de sobte apareix en Pere Patufet!

Pere Patufet is an extremely small boy, smaller than a tiny grain. His family sends him to buy a coin's worth of saffron. At the shop, he asks for it, but nobody can see him. They only notice a coin moving. After he repeats his request, they finally see the tiny customer, take his coin and put the saffron in its place.
Outside, rain begins to fall. Pere hides beneath a cabbage to keep dry. An ox arrives and eats both the cabbage and the boy.
When he does not return, his family becomes worried and goes out looking for him. They repeatedly call his name. Pere answers that he is inside the ox's belly, where there is neither thunder nor rain. His family is amazed but keeps searching, unsure where to find him.
While they are still busy looking, the ox lets out a fart. Suddenly, Pere Patufet appears again. The tale ends with this unexpected escape.
